- PCB is in a fully working condition - it comes from a working hard drive with bad sectors; Before PCB was pulled from the hard drive, the hard drive was connected to the PC and the HDD diagnostics software (Badblocks) was run. Since the hard drive contained bad sectors and thus no longer considered reliable, the PCB was removed and other parts of the hard drive were scrapped.
- Some hard drives require firmware to be transferred from the old PCB board to the new one in order to work. This procedure requires ROM or NV-RAM chip to be removed from the old PCB and soldered to the new one. In some cases firmware resides in the Main Controller IC. This can be a challenging task that requires special tools and knowledge. Only purchase this PCB board if you possess both.
